Arity uses advertising identifiers associated with consumer's mobile device (commonly known as a Mobile Ad ID) to serve third-party interest-based advertising based on their driving habits. Under California law, sharing these unique advertising identifiers for online advertising may be considered a "sale" of information. Except for this kind of sharing, Arity does not sell any personal information.

What the registry entry does and does not say

A registry entry says one thing: the company told the state it meets the California definition of a data broker and paid the annual registration. Registration is what the law asks for, so an entry here is a record of a filing and nothing more. It is not a finding, a complaint, or a rating, and this page does not add one.

The other half of the law runs on a clock. A registered broker has to access the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform at least once every 45 days, match the deletion requests in it against its own records, and file a status for every match.
