Consumers can opt out of the sale of their personal information by clicking on link entitled "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" located in the footer of Unearth's website and following the instructions to opt out. From that link, we offer two opt outs for sales, one for data disclosures that we make in our issue advocacy work, and another for disclosures of personal information of our website visitors (which does not involve our role as a data broker).,, Other consumer requests (right to know, correct, and delete). A registry entry says one thing: the company told the state it meets the California definition of a data broker and paid the annual registration. Registration is what the law asks for, so an entry here is a record of a filing and nothing more. It is not a finding, a complaint, or a rating, and this page does not add one.

The other half of the law runs on a clock. A registered broker has to access the state's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform at least once every 45 days, match the deletion requests in it against its own records, and file a status for every match.
